International SOS re-awarded the TRICARE Overseas Program Contract

International SOS re-awarded the TRICARE Overseas Program Contract

Six more years of HELL for TRICARE beneficiaries in the Philippines and probably all around the world. This should send a loud and clear message that the Defense Health Agency totally and absolutely approves of fraud and their contractors ignoring beneficiary inquiries including contractor directed price increases by local providers.

Don’t forget this is the company, International SOS, that publicly claimed that Philippine TRICARE beneficiaries, by the millions, were trying to defraud them and TRICARE and openly stated “The Philippines is always going to be the bane of our existence,”. This clearly demonstrates how this company views TRICARE beneficiaries in the Philippines and the Philippine people in general.

No wonder so many beneficiaries voiced such disgust with the current TRICARE program when the Congressional Commission asked them for their opinion of TRICARE. It has to be one of the worst run health care programs in the U.S. if not the world!

If you want to find out the real story behind DHA’s focused attack on TRICARE beneficiaries in the Philippines instead of their spin and propaganda, read TRICARE: Betrayal in the Philippines, Is This the Future of TRICARE Overseas? It is available at the link and most online book sales outlets such as iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and others.

Never forget the Defense Health Agency and International SOS always have your back when it comes to high quality and easy access to care; just ask them!

So we went from Health Visions to these clowns (now twice) all of which have had the interest of financial windfalls as the number one priority while ensuring less quality healthcare and more out of pocket expenses for all concerned. Obviously the numerous letters that were sent to our Congress (House and Senate) never saw the light of day in front of the eyes of the majority of the elected public servants within Congress.

Not correct the Demo program really works great. I have used it and it paid php 717,000 on a Medical City bill. I paid only php 20000. Some one is obviously misinformed . It is a great program. Don’t knock what you have not tried. Get hardcore fact before you believe everything you read. Contact the Medical City International Office for information. They setup my entire visit to Medical City.

    • First your claim on what was paid and what you paid is absolutely not true. Under the Demo you pay at least 25% of the total bill and pay it up front. If as you claimed the Demo paid 717,000 and you paid a copy of 20,000 then it doesn’t add up. P717,000 + P20,000 equals P737,000. Twenty five percent of P737,000 is P184,250 which is nowhere near your claimed P20,000 copay.

While there are some cases where it does work well, in many others not so well. Many have found they were overcharged or that ISOS entered into a secret deal to force beneficiaries to pay for care in full and up front that should have been covered by the Demo. This was done to keep some providers in the program. Many doctors never file claims when the entire cost of care is covered by the deductible so you never get credit and pay it over and over again. ISOS negotiated huge price increases as well to get providers to play. The bottom line in many cases your copay is 50% or more above what you should be paying. Finally many doctors are not paid for a significant portion of their bill which will eventually lead to them quitting the program as everyone did in Angeles less than a year into the experiment.

Bottom line your claim on what was paid and what you paid is totally wrong and many have found significant problems with the secret deals worked by ISOS. But we are glad you had a good experience.
